
Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Principal Data Scientist
InData is proud to announce a new addition to the growing Advanced Engineering Team. William Farfan joins InData and InData.farm as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Principal Data Scientist.
He joins us from Microsoft’s LinkedIn division where he worked on strategic initiatives and technologies. During his tenure, he lead a variety of projects and R&D initiatives to include scaling a multi petabyte infrastructure, piloting massive data sets on Azure cloud storage, testing LinkedIn’s open source object storage, automation, and the design and build for LinkedIn’s global studio expansion.
William started programming in high school and had an early passion for electronics and software development. He later served honorably in the US Marine Corps where he learned more about engineering, IT, and software architecture. After completing his military tour, he started his first business providing IT Services to businesses in Los Angeles and Orange County. After entrepreneurship, William continued his career in engineering working for private and public firms including Warner Bros, The Walt Disney Corporation, and Integrated Media Technologies, Inc. (IMT). IMT is the largest media and entertainment-focused systems engineering firm in Los Angeles.
After leaving IMT, William went on to work for Lynda.com which was acquired by LinkedIn. William continued serving LinkedIn and built out its global IT media infrastructure. LinkedIn was acquired by Microsoft and William was a senior engineering leader in Content Technology Engineering (CTE) and key in the integration and acceleration of the company’s strategic media IT and learning technologies (lynda.com & linkedIn.com/learning).
At InData, William will provide engineering leadership in scaling InData’s various practices:

- IoT as Industrial Cognitive Sensors
- Business Intelligence
- Cloud (Hybrid & Edge Computing)
- Managed Services (MSP)
